Iconic Boston Marathon bombing survivor Victoria McGrath killed in tragic Dubai car crash
A SURVIVOR of the Boston marathon bombings has been killed in a car crash while on holiday in Dubai, it has been confirmed.

Victoria McGrath, 23, was standing just five feet away from one of the makeshift bombs that was detonated as she watched the marathon almost three years ago, leaving her seriously injured.
Victoria – known as Vicky – was killed during her holiday to Dubai along with fellow Northeastern University student Priscilla Perez Torres, the university confirmed yesterday.

She was iconically photographed being carried away from the scene by a firefighter shortly after the devastating attacks.
Two explosions went off close to the finish line of the marathon by bombers Tamerlan Tsarnaev and brother Dzhokhar.
Dzhokhar was found guilty of killing three people and injuring 264 and sentenced last May to death
The blasts killed three people and injured more than 260.
In a statement, president of the university Joseph Aoun said: "Victoria and Priscilla were vibrant, beloved members of our community, and their passing leaves a grievous absence in our community and in our hearts.

“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Victoria McGrath and Priscilla Perez Torres in this extremely difficult time.”
Tributes poured in for the student, who seriously damaged her leg in the bombings on April 13, 2013.

Staff at the Tufs Medical Centre, who treated Ms McGrath in the aftermath of the attack, paid tribute on social media.
They wrote: “Our hearts ace for the family and friends of our former patients Victoria McGrath.
“She made a lasting impact on those who knew her.”

The brave woman appeared with emergency crews at the Boston Stronger concert just one month after the atrocities.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed after carrying out the attacks with his brother.
Dzhokhar was found guilty of killing three people and injuring 264 and sentenced to death by lethal injection last May.
