MORE MIGRANT VIOLENCE: Second person killed at Swedish refugee centre in space of a month
A SECOND person has been killed at a refugee centre in Sweden within the space of one month after a fight broke out among residents.
The incident in Ljusne happened at an asylum centre
Last month 22-year-old, Alexandra Mezher, was on her own when she was attacked at a refugee centre in Mölndal which cared for young asylum seekers.
Police are now investigating a second incident after a scuffle broke out in another centre in the small town of Ljusne, on Sweden’s east coast.
The police are investigation the incident
Media in the Scandinavian country claims four people are involved and a sharp object was used in brawl.
It is believed the fight took places amongst people living in the centre and no staff are said to be injured.
Ms Mezher was killed last month in an asylum centre where she worked
The mother of Ms Mezher, who died last month, claims ‘orphans’ at the centre lied about their age.
She added her daughter was warned a knife had been stolen from the kitchen four hours before she started her last shift.
The family also criticised politicians for the rise in immigration in Mölndal, a suburb of Gothenburg, where 8,000 migrants have arrived in less than a year.
Sweden defends plan to deport tens of thousands of migrants
Sweden reversed its open-door policy on immigration in late last year and introduced stricter controls and identification checks after asylum seeker records reached 163,000 in 2015.
The country's migration agency expects up to 140,000 asylum seekers in 2016 but the government has said it will not allow numbers to get anywhere near that figure.
