Terror alert on Paris jet after bomb squad rush to investigate 'unclaimed phone'
AN AIRPORT was plunged into a terror alert after an unclaimed mobile phone was found on a jet arriving from Paris.
The flight was moved to a secure part of Miami International Airport
The bomb squad were called in amid reports of "suspicious activity" on American Airlines flight 63 from the French capital when it landed in Miami at 3:30pm local time.
The plane has since been cleared after police determined the item – later revealed to be a mobile phone – was not a threat.
The 217 passengers who had travelled on the Boeing 777 were held in airport buses while Miami-Dade police investigated the package, but have since been allowed to reboard the plane.

Police dogs were brought in to perform a sweep of the cabin the passengers were taken to customs.
FBI operatives have since confirmed that the suspicious package was an unclaimed mobile phone.
The owner later stepped forward, while an FBI spokesperson confirmed that no charges were filed.

They added "there was no nexus to terrorism to the incident"
Before the all clear was given Airline spokesperson Alexis Aran Coello said law enforcement, including the FBI were investigating: 'a suspicious item discovered on board'.
Meanwhile a spokesperson from the airport reported that the plane had been moved to a remote area of the airfield and was not affecting other flights.
