Trump says Kim Jong-un made 'nasty' claim about Biden's mental state - 'Mentally r*******'
The claims come from a recent press conference held at the White House.

President Donald Trump has claimed North Korea's dictator Kim Jong Un used a derogatory term to describe former president Joe Biden. Speaking during a press conference at the White House, he said: “He said very nice things about me,” Trump said of the North Korean autocrat. “He used to call Joe Biden a mentally r******* person…Joe Biden, he said he’s a mentally r******* person. He was so nasty to Joe Biden it was terrible.”
Back in 2023, the Independent reported, the supreme leader’s sister, Kim Yo Jong, lashed out at Biden over his warning that North Korean nuclear aggression would bring about the end of its regime. She described the former president as senile, but warned that her brother’s government would not dismiss Biden’s words as a “nonsensical remark from the person in his dotage.”
The newspaper also added that the North Korean leader, during Trump’s first term in office, called him as a “dotard,” a “frightened dog” and a “gangster fond of playing with fire.”

Last month, Kim Jong Un said his country will never surrender its nuclear weapons as he lamented Donald Trump's war in Iran.
He accused the US of carrying out "state terrorism" across the globe - his reason for needing to "permanently secure our nuclear arsenal". He also said: "Today’s reality clearly demonstrates the legitimacy of our nation’s strategic choice and decision to reject the enemies’ sweet talk and permanently secure our nuclear arsenal." This appeared to be in reference to talks with Donald Trump in 2019, which broke down and resulted in Kim increasing nuclear missile production.
As of 2025, North Korea's arsenal was estimated at around 50 nuclear weapons and production of fissile material for six to seven nuclear weapons per year. The country is also believed to have one of the world's largest chemical weapons stockpiles.
The dictator didn't specifically name Iran, he did accuse the US of "state terrorism and aggression across the world". He said: "The United States and its allies are constantly bringing nuclear strategic assets into the areas surrounding our country, shaking the foundations of regional security.
"The United States is carrying out acts of state terrorism and aggression across the world, but the arrogant and reckless exercise of its power has not weakened progressive humanity’s will to oppose domination and subjugation and to achieve independence and equality. I affirm that our nation is no longer a country under threat – we now possess the power to pose a threat if necessary.
"The solid construction of the nuclear shield firmly guarantees and drives the development of all sectors of the country, including the economy and culture, as well as the improvement of the people’s lives."
