Kamala Harris 'comfortable with confrontation' as Democrat's temper laid bare
KAMALA HARRIS, the Vice President-elect, is unafraid of "confrontation" as the Democrat's wrath was fully realised in an unearthed report.
US Election: Kamala Harris may 'take over' from Biden says Dale
Ms Harris is set to become the first woman of colour to hold the post of Vice President. Originally senator for California, she initially ran against President-elect Joe Biden. They engaged in several fiery clashes, most notably when Ms Harris called Mr Biden out for his record on race in 2019.
Ms Harris, however, soon dropped out and was shortly picked up by Mr Biden as his running mate.
She has already been touted by many as a potential candidate for the US' 2024 election given Mr Biden's age - the veteran politician is already 78.
The former lawyer was a relative newbie to politics having only been elected to the Senate in 2017.
Her career in law has built her up as one of Washington's more stoic politicians, however, having previously faced-down criminal death penalties while California's Attorney General.
This resoluteness was channelled in a 2018 Vogue profile.
It came as her openness to confrontation with a room full of junior Democratic Party staffers was detailed.
As journalist Abby Aguirre wrote in 2018: "Harris is a courtroom litigator.
"This means that, although she is warm and funny, she is also comfortable with confrontation — at home with it, even — and a casual conversation can become a rapid-fire deposition without warning.
"But exchanges like this one are also tutorials.
"In Figueroa’s case: Here is how you greet an elected official."

Figueroa was one of the staffers who failed to stand up when Ms Harris walked into the room.
While his friends shot up on seeing the "Democratic star", the young political hopeful failed to recognise the signal.
This resulted in an outburst from Ms Harris: "She greets the 20-somethings as though they’re relatives at a family reunion: 'Hi, everybody! Hi, guys!'
"Then she notices that one of the staffers is still seated, and her voice drops a full octave: 'Stand up, man!'

"The startled staffer springs to his feet. 'Kevin,' he says, extending a hand.
"'What’s your last name?' demands Harris.
"'Figueroa.'
"'Thank you!' She shakes his hand. 'Kamala Harris.' (That’s pronounced 'comma-la,' by the way, and you’d better get it right.)"
Despite largely being Mr Biden's understudy - he has a political career of over 50 years - Ms Harris refused to hold back during a leadership nomination debate.
She highlighted his controversial record on busing and racial issues, and described his work with segregationist lawyers as "hurtful".
The pair eventually ended up working together, with Ms Harris having endorsed Mr Biden before she herself ran.
They are thought to have bonded over Mr Biden's late son, Beau, who sadly passed away in 2015 from brain cancer, whom Ms Harris worked closely with as an Attorney General.
A year following Beau's death, Ms Harris, at the California Democratic convention, said that the Biden family "truly represents our nation’s highest ideals, a powerful belief in the nobility of public service," while Mr Biden had, "given so much to our country and on top of everything he has accomplished, he gave to us my dear friend Beau”.
Ms Harris has been described as a centrist in the party, previously opposing the elimination of private health insurance in America, something the more radical elements of the party have campaigned for in recent years.
Her voting record has rankled both liberals and conservatives in the party as it has veered between Left and Right.
