JOE BIDEN winning the election would increase the likelihood of America having a female President in the future according to a former US Congresswoman.
Joe Biden: Potential running mates praised by Donna Edwards
Mr Biden is expected to name a woman as his running mate this week for the 2020 US election. Former Democratic Congresswoman Donna Edwards told Channel 4 Mr Biden will be looking to pass on the torch to the next generation during his Presidency if he is elected.
Ms Edwards said regarding the candidates to be Biden's running mate: "I know many of these women, I know the talents that they bring."
She added: "
"The candidates that are under consideration are all younger than he is.
"I know that he has an interests in passing on the torch to the next generation.

"Any of the women that he has put on the list have the potential to be President of the US one day if that is what required."
Joe Biden presidency would be the oldest in American history, Mr Biden will be 78-years-old when he takes office if he wins the 2020 election.
Yesterday Donald Trump sensationally claimed China would "love" Democrat nominee Joe Biden to be the next US President.
Mr Trump referred to his rival in the upcoming 2020 elections as sleepy and stated that China would own America if Mr Biden was President.

President Trump said: "China would love us to have an election where Donald Trump lost to sleepy Joe Biden.
"They would dream, they would own our country.
"If Joe Biden was President, China would own our country."
He added: "It is much easier thing for a foreign power, whether it is Russia, China, Iran, North Korea.

"Many others, people, countries you would not expect, it’s much easier for them to forge ballots and send them in.
"It is much easier for them to cheat with universal mail-in-ballots.
"So I think one of the things we’ll have to look at is exactly that.
"But that’s a big problem."
