Macron squirms as he claims video mocking Trump was STOLEN – 'not supposed to be filmed'
FRENCH PRESIDENT Emmanuel Macron has spoken out on the video that showed Canadian leader Justin Trudeau mocking Donald Trump over a 40-minute impromptu speech.
Donald Trump ‘really set off’ by NATO leaders says expert
The video from last night’s NATO reception at Buckingham Palace showed a small group of leaders, attended by Mr Johnson, Mr Trudeau, Mr Macron and even Princess Anne, appearing to chat behind President Trump’s back. The clip shows the group mocking an unknown politician for delivering a 40-minute impromptu speech. But Mr Macron has spoken out about the video and said the conversation “wasn’t supposed to be filmed”.
Antonello Guerrera, a journalist from La Repubblica, has translated a comment made by the French President in relation to the leaked video.
He said: "I am not going to comment on STOLEN videos, that video wasn't supposed to be filmed in that room.”
In the clip, the leaders are believed to be discussing President Trump.
While the President’s name is not pronounced, many commentators are convinced the world leaders were speaking about the US President.
In the video, Mr Johnson can be heard saying to Mr Macron: “Is that why you were late?”
Mr Trudeau intervenes, saying: “He was late because he takes a 40-minute press conference off the top!”.
Mr Macron then speaks and gestures animatedly, but his words are barely audible.
The Canadian leader can later be heard once again, seemingly speaking about the same person the group was discussing earlier.

He says: “You just watched his team’s jaws drop to the floor.”
Princess Anne’s face is covered and it isn’t clear whether she takes part in the conversation or if she is just politely listening to the guests at Buckingham Palace.
Mr Johnson has denied joking about Mr Trump at the NATO reception.
President Trump hit out at the video and branded the Canadian leader “two-faced”.
