Queens stabbing: Woman goes on rampage at children’s nursey, multiple injured
A WOMAN has stabbed several people including children after she went on a knife rampage at a nursery in Queens, according to New York police.
The horror incident took place in 161st Street in Flushing, in the borough of Queens.
Five people, including three children, have been left injured.
The ages of two children, a boy and a girl, remains unknown but police say the girl is in a serious condition.
A man and woman have also been injured in the attack just before 4am (local time) and victims were either cut or slashed.
None of the injuries are thought to be life-threatening.
A police spokesman said victims had "multiple stab wounds", adding they are looking into reports some of the victims are children.
Police say a 52-year-old woman, who is responsible, is in custody at an area hospital.
They say she was found in the basement of the day care centre with her left wrist slashed, which was self-inflicted.

The injured man is a father of one of the chilren at the day centre and he recieved a stab wound to his leg.
It is unknown whether his child was injured in the knife rampage.
Officials said the woman injured during the attack was a worker at the day care centre.
NYPD officers have cordoned off the area.
