Tropical Storm Ophelia path: New Atlantic storm WILL strengthen into hurricane, warns NOAA
TROPICAL Storm Ophelia is expected to strengthen into a hurricane by tomorrow, the US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) said in its latest advisory on Monday.

The storm, located about 785 miles west-southwest of the Azores in the Atlantic, was packing maximum sustained winds of 50 miles per hour, the NHC said.
It would become the 10th consecutive storm to reach hurricane strength.
The NOAA said: “The tropical storm is expected to turn toward the southeast and then south at about the same rate of forward speed during the next couple of days.
"Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours and Ophelia is expected to become a hurricane by Wednesday."

Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours and Ophelia is expected to become a hurricane by Wednesday
In recent weeks Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Jose and Katia have killed hundreds of people in the US, Mexico and the Caribbean.
"Forecasts currently show that Ophelia is not a threat to land," CNN meteorologist Judson Jones said.
Hurricane Ophelia was the fifteenth named tropical cyclone and the eighth hurricane of the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season.
