Hurricane Seymour path latest: Could the powerful storm hit Mexico's Baja California?

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has now located Seymour about 820 miles away from the southern tip of Baja California.
The world’s second-longest peninsula is located in Mexico near the border with California and the city of San Diego.

Could Hurricane Seymour hit Mexico's Baja California?
The NHC’s most recent forecasts has ruled out the possibility of Seymour hitting Baja California in Mexico.
The hurricane has moved west away from Mexico over the past few days. But it will turn towards the north later today.
The NHC said: “There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
The Met Office storm tracker has forecast the path of Hurricane Seymour
"Rapid weakening is expected, and Seymour is forecast to weaken to a tropical storm this afternoon and become a remnant low pressure system on Friday."
It added: “Seymour is forecast to turn northward today, and then northeastward on Friday ahead of a large deep-layer trough located well offshore of the west coast of the United States.”
The Met Office storm tracker predicts that the hurricane will stay out at sea but turn slightly towards the coast on Friday.
Its forecast shows Seymour weakening dramatically over the course of the week.

A rain storm is forecast to bring much needed rainfall to California, which is currently experiencing a long-running drought.
AccuWeather said: “Moisture from Seymour, currently a major hurricane south of Baja California, Mexico, could be drawn northward late in the week and into the weekend.”
