Britain will be swept through a spell of warm and humid air as the latest weather maps show a 29C heat bomb crashing into the UK. Maps from WXCharts show that the parts of the UK will witness dry and settled conditions on Sunday and Monday after days of showery outbreak.

According to the weather maps, the southern parts of the country will bask in glorious sunshine. A yellow heat health alert has also been issued for East of England and South East.

The alert starts at 9 pm on Saturday, 31 August, and lasts until 9am on Monday, 2 September. The regions affected are the East of England and South East only.

The UK Health Security Agency said: “Minor impacts are possible across the health and social care sector, including increased use of healthcare services by the vulnerable population, increase in risk of mortality amongst vulnerable individuals and increased potential for indoor environments to become very warm. But these are not expected.”

“Previous runs had eastern England seeing most of the shower activity but that has changed to more inland so just some uncertainty for Sunday. These showers could include heavy even thundery bursts for southern England.

“There will still be large areas of fair, dry and warm weather. It will feel close and warmer for southern Britain with lighter winds and this airflow from France. The temperature range is from 22 to 30C but will depend on the cloud cover and showers.

“In any sunny spells, it will feel very warm and close. For the northern half of Britain and Northern Ireland, there will be more of an easterly wind. Glasgow could see 21C but Aberdeen might stay at 16C.”
