CHAOS: Flu outbreak forces closure of two wards at leading hospital
AN OUTBREAK of flu has forced the closure of two wards and left 60 patients ill at a leading hospital.
Patients are being urged to stay away from the hospital following an outbreak of flu
People are being urged to stay away after a surge in admissions due to flu was followed by an outbreak within the hospital.
Two wards have been closed and three others have bays that are affected at Addenbrooke’s in Cambridge, an internationally renowned teaching hospital.
A Cambridge University Hospitals spokesman said: “There are a high number of flu cases across the hospital and our emergency department is at capacity.
“We are urging people to keep visiting to a minimum. “If you are suffering with flu-like symptoms, please check with your GP, local pharmacist or NHS 111.”
