Is YOUR local HSBC going to close? 57 MORE branches to shut
THE global banking giant, HSBC, is axing 57 of its branches next year in communities across the UK.
HSBC is set to close more of its UK branches
HSBC, which used to call itself 'The World's local bank' has already closed 218 local bank branches so far this year and 57 more are set to shut in the New Year.
The Big Four, HSBC, Royal Bank of Scotland, Barclays and Lloyds, have shut more than 500 branches this year.
The banks closing, which has been revealed by the Mail on Sunday, is a consequence of a surge in online banking and not enough people using the local branches.

This comes as the banking giant has said that it will close its branch in Abergele, North Wales.
In view of a bank closing in Southport, Aimee Midgley, said: "It's ridiculous we are building more and more houses but stripping the village of all its amenities! Fancy not having a bank for a bloody 7 mile radius"
HSBC has said it is keen to maintain a “sustainable network for the future”.
The bank said that customers who could have difficulty accessing an alternative branch if their own has closed would be offered one to one appointments to discuss their needs.
It also said it would provide mobile, telephone banking and cash back training.
