THE BBC politics anchor savaged Nick Clegg's version of Brexit as "staying in the EU in all but name".
Andrew Neil DEMOLISHES Nick Clegg's "soft Brexit"
Andrew Neil slapped down the Liberal Democrat MP as disingenuous and conniving on his plans to keep Britain in the EU.
He hit out at the former Deputy Prime Minister for still refusing to accept the Brexit vote.
During his appearance on this morning's Sunday Politics, Mr Clegg was destroyed for his desperate tactics as his fellow Remainers scramble for a second referendum.

Mr Clegg admitted he would vote against Article 50 unless Theresa May gave into his demands for a second referendum and membership of the Single Market.
The ex-Liberal Democrat leader said: "We are speaking for the 48 per cent of Britain who are being shouted down as moaners, as people living in denial.
"But they are putting the country first."
But Mr Neil ripped into the fanatic Europhile as he told him: "Your party, the Liberal democrats, maybe it is time for a rebrand. Maybe you should drop the Democrat bit!"

The BBC host pointed out that even David Cameron and George Osbourne confirmed that Brexit meant quitting the Single Market.
He then showed a clip where the Liberal Democrat MP called the referendum a "once-in-a-generation decision".
Mr Neil said: "If the second referendum was so important, why did you not mention it during the campaign?
"You said the vote was once-in-a-generation, that’s what you said - but that was only if you won!"

The Sunday Politics host then called out the Remain campaigner's version Brexit as effectively staying a member of the EU.
Mr Neil said: "Your idea of Brexit is a Single Market membership, continuing with EU contributions, free movement of people, remain subject to the jurisdiction of EU court, stay a part of the customs union, which would prevent us from making free trade deals.
"You know what that is called, right? Membership of the EU!"

The host added: "You want a Brexit with very little difference from what our relationship with EU is right now.
"Or you want a second referendum that would encourage EU to give us the worst possible deal."
Mr Clegg struggled to reply following the astonishing take-down of his EU stance.
He only said: "There are choices on how we leave the EU.
"If it comes to the point that anyone who wants to put the country ahead of the narrow interests of Brexiteers is shouted down, that is a very sorry direction for our country."
