HUNDREds more flights to China have been agreed in another push for more global trade after Brexit.

Last night, Transport Secretary Chris Grayling hailed the deal as a “big moment” in the effort to find new markets.
Under long-standing rules, flights to and from China have been restricted to 80 a week.
The new deal will allow 100 weekly passenger flights and unlimited cargo services.

A limit of just six destinations in each country will also be lifted.

Mr Grayling said: “This deal is a big moment for the UK. Strong connections with emerging markets like China are vital for us if we are to continue competing on the global economic stage.
“Hundreds of thousands of Chinese people visit the UK every year, spending hundreds of millions of pounds.
“Raising the number of permitted flights between the two countries will provide massive opportunities for our businesses, helping increase trade, create jobs and boost our economy.”

According to the Department for Transport, visits in 2015 were up 46 per cent on 2014 to almost 270,000.
Chinese visitors spent £586million, making China one of 10 most valuable tourism markets.
Recently, Manchester Airport launched the first direct route from outside London, estimated to be worth £250million over 10 years.
