A UK family-run manufacturer that has been in operation for more than 160 years has closed after entering administration. Administrators Forvis Mazars said RH Nuttall Limited had suffered "cash flow issues" and 29 staff members have been made redundant.

West Midlands-based RH Nuttall was a family-run business since being founded in 1860. A new family took over the business in 2024, according to its website. A spokesperson from Forvis Mazars said: "Scott Bevan and Simon Chandler of Forvis Mazars were appointed as Joint Administrators to R.H. Nuttall on 26 May 2026.

"The company, which had suffered cash flow issues, ceased on the appointment of the administrators and unfortunately its 29 staff were made redundant."

On its website, RH Nuttall described itself as a leading supplier of gaskets and sealing solutions.

It said that under the leadership of Managing Director Jon King — appointed in October 2024, according to Companies House — the business has expanded its products “beyond traditional gasket and washer manufacturing”.

“Our product range now includes rubber and expanded sponge strips, coil manufacturing, and a variety of metallic components such as bolts, screws, earth tags, and nuts,” the website said.

“This expansion allows us to serve a broader range of industries while continuing to support our long-standing customers with high-quality soft-cut materials.”

All RH Nuttall products were manufactured at a factory in Birmingham.
