Kuwait Airlines flight KU118 forced to make emergency landing at London airport
A KUWAIT AIRLINES plane was forced to make an emergency landing in London this morning.
Flight KU118 between New York and Kuwait has made an emergency landing at London Heathrow Airport
Kuwait Airways flight KU118 declared an emergency during its flight from New York to Kuwait.
It was travelling over Germany at about 8.30am when it began squawking 7700 – the code for emergency.
The flight turned back towards London and landed at Heathrow just after 9am this morning.
The emergency diversion stumped air experts who said the flight could have stopped in Germany or Belgium rather than flying the long distance to London.
One person was suffering from food poisoning and the crisis was a classed as a medical emergency.
