Military attack helicopter forced to land in RIVER after in-flight emergency
A MILITARY attack helicopter was forced to land in the middle of a river after an in-flight emergency.
The crew managed to land the helicopter in a river
The US Marine Corps helicopter was on a routine flight when one of its critical cockpit instruments dropped below normal levels.
The skilled crew quickly descended the AH-1W Super Cobra into the 50-mile long Los Angeles River.
A South Gate Police Department spokesman said the two pilots "discovered electrical issues with the aircraft".
Both of them escaped uninjured and returned to the Camp Pendleton base.
A maintenance team was flown in from 70 miles away.
They fixed the helicopter, which took off again after about five hours.
