Cyclist fined for speeding after overtaking cars at twice the speed limit
A CYCLIST overtook cars while pedalling in a royal park at 41mph – more than twice the speed limit.
The cyclist was caught by police using a speed measuring device
Rory Palmer, 42, admitted exceeding the 20mph speed limit in Richmond Park, west London, in January.
Officers saw him overtaking cars and caught him on speed measuring devices.
Mutahir Ahmed, defending Palmer, of Shepherds Bush, west London, said: “It was a windy day and he was coming down the hill.”
Magistrates in Wimbledon fined him £65 with a surcharge of £20 and £65 costs.
