HE'S been entertaining children and adults alike for six decades with his traditional Punch and Judy shows.
But veteran performer Paul Douglas fears they are in danger of dying out, after being criticised as "inappropriate" and for promoting domestic violence.
Paul, who believes he is the last Punch and Judy man on the east coast on England, has vowed to continue performing shows next summer.
But he was dismayed last year when his booking for a Coronation gala in the Lincolnshire village of Saltfleetby was cancelled by organisers after Punch and Judy shows were branded "inappropriate" by the parish council.
Paul said: "Sadly, it is the times we live in. But it is like Tom and Jerry just slapstick humour.
"My show for the Coronation was cancelled because it was not deemed appropriate for the King.
"But Charles actually goes to the Mayfair at Covent Garden to see the Punch and Judy Man. He loves it."
