'Why Sir Chris Hoy retired!' Scotland Commonwealth Games uniform mocked on Twitter
IS this the reason Sir Chris Hoy retired?
The kits for Scottish athletes competing in the Commonwealth Games 2014 have been unveiled - and one outfit received a backlash on Twitter.
The opening parade uniform features a light blue outfit and a TARTAN wrap-around and tweeters joked it was the reason Sir Chris quit cycling.
The competitors will wear the kits as they enter Celtic Park on July 23 in front of a potential TV audience of one billion people worldwide.

Twitter user James Manning posted: "Now we know why Sir Chris Hoy retired ahead of the Commonwealth Games. The Scotland parade uniform."
Tweeter Fiona wrote: "Actually mortified at the Team Scotland uniform for the Commonwealth Games. Who designed it and why were they allowed to go ahead with it?!"
Andy Nairan added: "I'm petitioning Google to expunge all images of Scotland's Commonwealth Games kit."
While comedian Al Murray tweeted: "What in the name of British Home Stores is that?"
Sir Chris, who twice won gold at the Commonwealth Games, quit competitive cycling in April 2013 after an illustrious career.
The Edinburgh born athlete, 38, won gold at the Olympics six times and is now working towards competing as a motor racing driver at the Le Mans endurance race.
While tweeters poked fun at the uniform on Twitter it did have a positive reaction from a number of athletes.
Rugby sevens player Lee Jones said the outfit was "very comfortable and eye-catching".

Squash player Frania Gillen-Buchert added: “I love the tartan and I think we’ll look great …and we’ll definitely be seen as we march last into Celtic Park for the Opening Ceremony as the home team."
The uniform's creator Jilli Blackwood defended the outfits and said the athletes would be "proud" to wear them at the opening ceremony.
