Climber feared dead as he fails to return from the Andes
A MATHS student is missing feared dead after he failed to return from an attempt to reach a mountain peak in the Andes.
Thomas Jagger, 22, was last seen setting off alone for the summit of the 19,000ft Nevado Pisco, in Peru, 12 days ago.
The climber, from Buxton, Derbyshire, studied at Warwick University. In a statement his parents, who have gone to Peru, said: “Tom was a much-loved son, brother and friend. We wish to be given time to come to terms with what has happened.”
