Keeping your house sparkling clean needs a lot of effort and a regular routine. While social media is always buzzing with interesting cleaning hacks, it’s hard to shortlist the ones that actually work.

However, an expert has shared six cleaning hacks that she has used herself on her house and is absolutely in awe of them. Writing for Homes& Gardens, Chiana Dickson explained the hacks that have helped her house clean with sparkling results. She wrote: “Of the hundreds of hacks, products, and methods I have tested, these are the cleaning tips I actually use around my home for sparkling results and why they have stuck with me for good.”

1. Damp dusting:

According to the expert, using a damp sponge helps pick up dust and clean surfaces without using harsh chemicals. The only technique is to dampen the scrub, dust, rinse, and then repeat.

2. Using glycerin to remove the stains:

A natural cleaning method, glycerin helps in soaking the stains and lubricating the particles. Once that is done, the dust will easily be removed without leaving any stains behind.

3. Cleaning with vinegar:

Vinegar works wonders as a natural product to keep your home sparkling clean. It is used as a multi-purpose product and helps in getting rid of mold or cleaning the washing machine. Apart from this, it is also used as a fantastic natural deodorizer.

4. Smart home cleaning tools:

Taking advantage of some smart cleaning tools can take off the burden and give you a breather from the regular cleaning work. Using a robotic vacuum cleaner or running an automated washing machine program can save you a lot of time and energy.

5. The One tool method:

The "one-tool" cleaning method involves focusing on one specific cleaning task with one tool at a time, rather than trying to tackle multiple tasks simultaneously, which can lead to more efficient and less mentally taxing cleaning. Select a cleaning tool, such as a dust cloth, vacuum cleaner, or mop, and focus on that specific task. This approach can reduce decision fatigue, make cleaning less tiring, and help tackle areas that are often neglected when cleaning room by room.

6. Closing shifts:

According to the expert, following a 'closing shift routine' helps in setting up a clean home for the morning. The expert suggested following a pattern before sleeping as it makes 'home far less overwhelming'.
