A man's odd topping for his jacket potato has been mocked by members of the public.

Taking to Rate My Plate on Facebook, Niall B's submission left thousands in stitches as they reacted to his messy plate and scotch egg additions on the side. His "Jacket Potato with Cheese & Prawn Cocktail" was nothing special, and was ridiculed by members of the public.

With thousands of people commenting on the post, most were not best pleased with the toppings of his jacket potato.

One wrote: "Looks like gourmet dog food." Other users suggested it looks "grim", but there was one difference in their comments.

Some dared to suggest they would actually eat the prawn and cheese-topped potato, with one writing: "I'd eat this, love prawn cocktail and cheese with jacket potatoes." Another added: "I'm not sure about the combination of cheese and prawn but I'd still eat it."

Others were not so sure on the additions, while others were left trying to figure out what was buried underneath the toppings. "Where's the jacket?" one joked. Another mocked: "Do you want some jacket potato with those prawns?"

Several users tried to figure out what else was near the plate, spotting what looked like scotch eggs.

One wrote: "What are those brown balls? Cheese, preferably melted, is lovely on a jacket potato but not prawn cocktail. Sorry, you lost me on this one!"

Another joked: "Cheese and prawn cocktail! Have you tried adding a garnish of carpet fluff and chimney soot. Couldn't make it any worse." Facebook users did not take kindly to the foodie's combination.

A third user asked: "Poor Jacket Potato, such disrespect....What are those brown yokes, scotch eggs?"
