Playing pranks is usually something we leave behind in the playground. But two women are now locked in a battle to see who can exact the best revenge on the other’s over-the-top jokes.

One of the women took to internet forum Reddit to reveal a hilarious and yet bizarre way she has gotten back at her friend who painted her bedroom pink as a prank whilst she was on holiday.

She explained what had gone on in a post to other Reddit users. She said: “So my best friend more of a girly girl than me - think lots of pink, hair and nails done etc.

“I'm definitely not like this and pink isn't exactly my color of choice. Anyway she was looking after my apartment while I was on holiday and as a joke she arranged for painters to come in and paint my bedroom pink.

“She also put in pink satin sheets and pillows, all my art replaced with pink themed art, a pink rug, some pink decals on the walls... you get the idea. So cue my petty revenge…”

The revenge, however, although also home decor related, might take a while for her friend to twig.

She said: “While she was out I went into her apartment and took copies of all her photos on the walls, then photoshopped just her head to be about 25 percent bigger in all of them and put them back.

“It will be a month this week and she still hasn't realised. How often do you look at your own pictures right? So at a glance everything is normal but when you see it you can't unsee it, she looks like a bobble head in every one.”

This amused other users who then regaled the thread with their own pranks on friends. Another user’s joke has a similar theme as the original poster.

They said: “I once was shooting a film next door to the director’s house and we were using the director’s house as basecamp.

“With some extra time on my hands I retook many of her family photos that were in the house but used crew members.

“I then matched color tone, and size, had them printed and put them in front of the real photos in the frames. She thought it was hilarious and ended up leaving them for at least a year.”

Another said: “I remember wrapping a flatmate's entire room in tinfoil as well as all of its contents. His computer, his screen, his mouse, his pencil case, the pens inside, his pillow, his bed, his doorknob, each one of his books individually, everything.”

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II’s study groom Terry Pendry has recalled how the late monarch had a great sense of humour which was proved by a joke she told him about a cow and Mother Superior.
