A property dubbed "the chavviest house in the UK" has sold, despite people accusing its unique style of being the "worst interior decor in the country".

On first glance, this three-bedroom semi-detached property in Prescot, Merseyside, could catch the eye of eager property investors. But a peek inside reveals a shock to the senses that's been causing waves online.

The living room is a riot of bold pink and purple hues, not for the faint of heart. And the repeated presence of a Chanel logo rug in both the kitchen and a bedroom raised eyebrows.

Pink doesn't shy away, dominating the residence from the kitchen right through to the bathroom, making an unabashed spectacle of itself.

Since landing on Rightmove in February, social networks have exploded with commentary about the unusual abode. Express writer Christian Calgie couldn't resist chipping in his views, taking to X (formerly Twitter) with a biting critique: "Excluding houses with severe fire damage, I don't think I have seen a worse interior."

A commenter on the internet said: "Gosh that all cost a fortune... they could have had a bigger house instead", while another simply expressed dismay with: "That's grim". Nevertheless, Rightmove has confirmed that this distinctively styled home has been sold for £180,000, equivalent to the average property value in Prescot, reports the Mirror.

While some online commentators saw hidden promise in the dwelling, one cyber sage counselled: "Always buy the worst house on a good street. That way any improvements you make will reap financial benefits for you and improve the neighbourhood. Everything interior that is not screwed to walls will be removed by the owner.

"Anything left behind can be unscrewed and skipped. I would be more worried about the area and next door run down properties."

Estate agents were pitching the property as an idyllic fixer-upper with terms like "perfect for first time buyers" or an ideal spot for burgeoning families. The Rightmove advert gushed: 'Nestled in a sought-after locale, this charming three-bedroom semi-detached home presents superb living quarters.

"Tailor-made for newcomers to property ownership or those seeking a nurturing haven for their little ones, this engaging residence boasts considerable appeal."
