Boy, 2, 'snatched from pram outside TK Maxx' in kidnap horror on UK high street

The suspect allegedly told the mother he was taking the child as he took him out of the pram.

A two-year-old boy was snatchd from a pram outside a TK Maxx in south east London.

Police rushed to the scene on Bromley High Street and arrested a man after the youngster was taken out of the pram after the suspect told his mother he was taking the child.

Officers say the child was "recovered" shortly after the incident on Wednesday, August 28, while the suspect remains in custody on suspicion of kidnap.

A spokespserson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Suspect arrested in Bromley High Steet. On 28th August 2024, police were called to TK Maxx, Bromley where a suspect had picked up a 2 year old child out of a pram stating to the child's mother that he will take the child. The child was recovered.

"The suspect was arrested for Kidnapping and taken to custody. The investigation is still ongoing. If you think your child has been abducted.
