Six 'attacks' in three days metres apart as violence epidemic blights east London

Two men were stabbed in the early hours of Friday close to East Ham Tube station, with another three men attacked - one fatally - in Plashet Park, 500 metres away.

Police and paramedics were on the scene last night of the sixth person to be atatcked in the same area in three days.

Two men were stabbed in the early hours of Friday close to East Ham Tube station.

On Saturday evening three men were attacked, one fatally, with knives in Plashet Park, 500 metres away, as revealed by Express.co.uk.

In the latest incident, two paramedics were filmed treating someone outside East Ham Tube station last night.

A crowd of people could be seen watching behind the crime scene as medics attended to the person.

There were unconfirmed suggestions of another stabbing on social media, but the force has now confirmed no blade was used last night.

A Met Police spokesperson said "Police were called at 8:53pm on Sunday, 28 July to reports of a man being assaulted on Milton Avenue, East Ham.

"Officers and paramedics from London Ambulance Service attended and found a man in his 30’s had been attacked, beaten and robbed.

"The man was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening of changing.

"Enquiries into the circumstances continue."

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.02pm on Sunday 28 July to reports of an incident in Milton Avenue, East Ham.

“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews.

“Our crews treated a man at the scene before taking him to hospital.”

It came just over 24 hours after a man died and two others were injured during a knife fight less than 500 metres away in Plashet Park.

A murder investigation has been launched following that fatal stabbing after police were called at 7.38pm on Saturday, July 27 to reports of a fight in the park.

Officers attended and found a young man suffering stab injuries. Despite emergency first aid by officers and treatment by ambulance colleagues, the man died at the scene.

Officers believe they know the identity of the man, whom they understand to be 20 years of age. Inquiries are ongoing to identify and inform his family.

Two teenage males were also found at the scene, one suffering stab injuries and a second who had sustained head injuries. Both were taken to hospital, but neither is in a life-threatening condition.

The Met has not reported making any arrests as yet.

In the early hours of Friday, July 26 there was another incident outside East Ham Tube station.

The Newham Recorder reported that Met Police officers were called at 3.35am, with reports of a stabbing in St Johns Road.

They attended with colleagues from the London Ambulance Service and an air ambulance was also dispatched.

Two men were discovered to be suffering from stab wounds.

The men, both in their 40s, were taken to a major trauma centre where their condition was not believed to be life-threatening.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
