The man suspected of murdering a mother and her two daughters at their home in Hertfordshire remains in hospital after he was found by police in a graveyard.

Kyle Clifford, 26, sparked a day-long manhunt after 61-year-old Carol Hunt and her two daughters Louise and Hannah were "shot dead with a crossbow". Neighbours raised the alarm after hearing screams coming from the Ashlyn Close property in Bushey shortly before 7pm.

Armed police stormed the home and found Carol, wife of BBC horse racing commentator John Hunt, with 25-year-old dog groomer Louise and 28-year-old beautician Hannah, with serious injuries. Louise is believed to be the suspect's ex-girlfriend. They all died at the scene.

An urgent search for Clifford, who briefly served in the Armed Forces, before he was found near his home in Enfield. Aerial footage shows Clifford being taken away on a stretcher as cops confirmed he was found 'with injuries'.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct announced on Wednesday evening it had received a mandatory referral from the Met Police after Clifford was discovered by officers with serious injuries in Enfield, but was satisfied that no investigation was required.

The watchdog said, “Based on the evidence provided, there does not appear to have been any physical contact with Mr Clifford at the time he was seriously injured.

"Therefore, we were satisfied the matter does not require investigation and it has been returned to the force to deal with,” the statement added.

Bushey triple murder victim 'begged for help' in desperate 999 call

One of three victims killed in Tuesday’s crossbow attack made a desperate 999 call shortly before she died, it has been reported.

Another is believed to have sent a text message to her partner for help, urging them to dial 999, the Guardian reports.

The horrific triple murder sparked a manhunt which resulted in suspect Kyle Clifford, 26, being traced to the Enfield area yesterday.

He is currently in hospital receiving treatment for injuries sustained prior to police finding him.

The BBC has confirmed that the women killed were members of the family of BBC Five Live racing commentator John Hunt - his 61-year-old wife Carol Hunt and their daughters Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25. All three lived in Ashlyn Close, Bushey in Hertfordshire.

Kyle Clifford update as forensic officers descend on second property in London

Police have reportedly begun a second search at a property in North London linked to the crossbow triple murder in Bushey, it has emerged.

Forensic officers are understood to be searching another address in Enfield, in north London, linked to suspect Kyle Clifford.

The house is reportedly linked to Kyle Clifford's brother, Bradley Clifford, according to GB News.

Tributes have today been pouring in for the three women who were found with serious injuries at their home in the quiet residential neighborhood of Bushey, northeast of the capital, on Tuesday evening.

Police and ambulance crews tried to save Carol Hunt, 61, and her daughters Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25, but they were pronounced dead at the scene.

A childhood friend of Carol Hunt, has described her as a “beautiful person”.

Lea Holloway, 60, said she had known Mrs Hunt since she was 16.

Speaking outside St James’ Church on Thursday after a vigil for Mrs Hunt and her daughters, she said: “We grew up together and were pregnant at the same time. This is the stuff nightmares are made of.

“I was there the night she met John (Hunt). It was in a nightclub in Hemel Hempstead. We went out together, went to birthdays and events.

“It’s very difficult. She was the nicest, kindest, sweetest person you could ever meet. A beautiful person.

“I feel for their eldest daughter and John (Hunt). I can’t imagine what it would be like.”

Community in tears

Members of the public attending the vigil have been seen hugging and crying as they pay their respects Carol, Louise and Hannah Hunt.

The Rector of Bushey, who is hosting a vigil at St James’ Church on Thursday morning, said the deaths of three women has brought the community together as “one big family”.

Father David Stevenson told the PA news agency: “Today is very much about supporting the community.

“This might sound strange but (this tragedy) has actually strengthened the community and brought it together, which is a wonderful thing.

“We realise that we are just one big family.”

Kyle Clifford’s former employer speaks

Kyle Clifford’s former employer has said they have had no further communication with him since he left the company in July last year.

Fire and security installation company Amthal, based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, said in a statement: “Kyle Clifford was employed from February 22, 2023 to July 20, 2023.

Since he departed from Amthal in July 2023, we have had no further communication with Mr Clifford.”

The ex-girlfriend of triple crossbow suspect Kyle Clifford,26, reposted a tweet praising "women who leave" just days before she was a victim of a horrifying triple murder.

Louise Hunt,25, is believed to be Mr Clifford's ex-girlfriend.

The 25-year-old reposted her final tweet on social media platform X on July 3 that said "it takes a lot of strength to break a tie".

The full tweet read: "I admire women who leave. idgaf if you left after the 1st time or the 12th time I admire that s***t!

"Idgaf if ppl was calling you dümb for 11 years but in the 12th year you decided you was done.

"It takes alot of strength to break a tie. It takes alot of self love to choose yo self."

Bushey residents gather for a church service

More than 50 Bushey residents have gathered for a church service to pay their respects to the Hunt family.

Father Stevenson who is leading the service has offered prayers to members of the public attending the morning service.

Many are arriving in tears, local councillors and representatives from many faiths are all in attendance.

Who is John Hunt?

John Hunt,58, is familiar to millions as a BBC Radio Five Live racing commentator, previous to this he worked as a police officer.

He has been described as an "outstanding commentator and broadcaster" by those sending their sympathies.

A note sent to his colleagues on Wednesday said the BBC would provide the commentator with "all the support we can".

BBC Radio 2 presenter Zoe Ball paused her breakfast show this morning to send a heartfelt message to John.

The presenter told listeners: “I must say, everyone at the BBC is heartbroken and deeply shocked at the news. Our thoughts and prayers are with John Hunt... we are holding you in our heart, John.”

Speaking through tears at the start of the Euro 2024 pre-match show on 5 Live, Mr Chapman said: "John Hunt is our colleague and our friend, not just to the current 5 Live sport team but to all of those who have worked here with him over the past 20 years."

Police to provide update on triple killing

Hertfordshire Police says it will release an update on the investigation later this morning.

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has issued a statement saying the "thoughts of everyone at the BHA" are with the BBC horseracing commentator John Hunt.

"We will remember them today and pray for John and his family and friends who will be trying to make sense of what has happened.

"We respect their privacy in this time of grief and pray for ourselves and our community, that we may grow closer together in love and respect for all. Everyone is welcome, those with faith and those without."

Vigil to be held for the Hunt family in Bushey

A church in Bushey has said it will hold a vigil for the Hunt family at 11am.

The Parish of St James and St Paul said: "Our community has been rocked by the tragic murders of Carol, Hannah and Louise.

"We will remember them today and pray for John and his family and friends who will be trying to make sense of what has happened.

"We respect their privacy in this time of grief and pray for ourselves and our community, that we may grow closer together in love and respect for all. Everyone is welcome, those with faith and those without."

Who is Kyle Clifford?

Kyle Clifford, 26, is believed to be the ex-boyfriend of Louise Hunt, 25, and is from Enfield, north London.

He was on the run after the incident and police had been searching the Hertfordshire and north London areas. After a massive police manhunt he was found with injuries in Lavender Hill Cemetery in Enfield on Wednesday afternoon and was taken to a major trauma centre for treatment.

Hertfordshire Police confirmed just after 6.20pm that Clifford had been but no shots were fired by officers, according to the force.

Sky News understands he used to work as a private security guard and is understood to have left the Army in 2022 following a short stint.

Clifford's older brother Bradley Clifford, 30, is serving a life sentence for murdering a teenager in 2017.

Who are the victims?

BBC commentator's John Hunt's wife Carol, 61, and two daughters Louise, 25, and Hannah, 28, were the victims of a horrifying triple murder in Bushey.

It is believed John had been working for the BBC on Tuesday and may have raised the alarm when he returned home at around 7pm.

Louise, a dog groomer, is believed to be the ex-girlfriend of suspect Clifford, while sister Hannah owns her own beauty company.

A friend of Louise Hunt, who knew her from their time at school, told BBC News she was “always a positive person” and that he could not think of “anything bad to say about her”.

Neighbour Su Kehinde, 60, who laid flowers at a makeshift tribute in the area on Wednesday, said: “They were the loveliest, gentlest family.

“They were the meekest human beings. They did not deserve this. They were beautiful souls.”

Her daughter April, 32, said that Hannah “always had a smile” and was “hard-working, a hard grafter and really gentle”.
