Glasgow school incident: Police rush to scene and cordon off entire area after teen attack
Police have rushed to a school in Glasgow and cordoned off a large area as they deal with an 'incident'.
Lourdes Secondary in Cardonald was closed by police this afternoon with officers seen standing guard at the entrance at 3pm.
Police Scotland has confirmed that a 14-year-old boy was taken to hospital following an attack. His condition is currently unknown.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report that a 14-year-old boy had been assaulted on Kirriemuir Avenue, Glasgow, around 1.55pm on Friday, 12 January, 2024. He was taken to hospital for treatment
“Officers are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing.”

It is believed all pupils were allowed to leave before the school was shut and there is now police tape sealing off the main gates of the school.
Some parents have reported that pupils were being kept indoors by school staff following the incident.
A message has now been sent out by the school to parents to let them know their children are safe following 'rumours.'

A spokesperson for Glasgow City Council said: "School staff acted swiftly to an incident outside the school grounds today and emergency services attended.
“It would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage during the police investigation.”
