Boris Johnson announces further lifting of lockdown rules

How many people can meet outside from May 17?
The Prime Minister revealed people can meet, and even hug, as long as it is with "caution and restraint" next week.
From May 17, the Government will dispense with "most" legal restrictions on meeting in public, with differences both inside and outside.
But the number of people allowed to meet in a group will increase dramatically.

The Government's official advice expands the current outside limit to 30 people maximum.
Any groups exceeding this shall remain illegal for the time being.
Indoors, the maximum number of people allowed to gather remains far lower.
People have to follow either the rule of six or two households limit.
Those who decide to meet up can make use of one long-lost form of endearment; hugging.
Family and friends can embrace again, provided they exercise caution.
Hugs remain a potential spreader of infections, and the Prime Minister touched on this.
He warned people to think about "vulnerable" loved ones in a press statement yesterday.

Mr Johnson said: “This doesn’t mean that we can suddenly throw caution to the winds.
"We all know that close contacts such as hugging is a direct way of transmitting this disease.
“So I urge you to think about the vulnerability of your loved ones.”
As gathering limits increase, so too will the number of places people can visit.
From May 17, people can meet their friends and family in a range of places, including indoor and outdoor locations.
Outdoor performance venues allowed to reopen include outdoor theatres and cinemas.
Hospitality will also change again from the 17th, with people allowed to move inside.
The accommodation sector and exercise classes can resume, with maximum seating limits of 10,000 allowed in some outdoor venues.
