BRIGHTON PRIDE 2019 is here - but what are the best spots to watch the spectacular parade as it winds its way through the city?

Brighton Pride is the UK’s biggest Pride Festival and thousands of people are expected to turn out to show their support for the LGBTQ+ community for the huge celebration. Pop princess Kylie Minogue will headline a concert in Preston Park later but the event kicked off at 11am with the popular annual parade. The Pride Community route for 2019 is a new one because Brighton & Hove City Council is carrying out landscaping works along the usual route around Victoria Gardens.
Here are the best places to watch the floats and dazzling performers in Brighton:
Hove Lawns
The Parade starts at Hove Lawns along the seafront before passing eastwards along the Kings Road - this is a great spot to see the fabulous floats as they make their way off.
Veeno cafe
At West Street, the parade will take a left turn moving up past the clock tower on Queens Road before turning right down North Road.
Make a stop at Veeno for some refreshments and to see the floats before they leave the seafront and move up West Street.
Clock Tower
Try to find a spot at the clock tower to watch as Pride performers journey up Queens Road before it turning right down North Road.
The Old Steine gardens
At the end of North Road, the parade will head left and rejoin the old route up Gloucester Place and London Road, finishing in Preston Park.
The gardens are a lovely spot to soak up the sun and see everything coming to a close.
The Royal Pavilion
Brighton’s stunning Grade 1-listed royal residence provides an epic backdrop for photos.
If you miss the parade then do not worry as the festival runs from Friday until Sunday, August 4.
Tickets to Pride in the Park are sold out but there still passes available for LoveBN1fest on Sunday.
Pride Pleasure Gardens will return for the fourth year running at Old Steine.
Spice Mel C will appear at Sink the Pink on Saturday but aside from that were will be cabaret, DJs, live performances and disco to keep the crowds dancing for hours.
Other major attractions include the Pride Village Party in Kemptown and the Pride Dog Show.
