AFTER the drama of the previous casting choice, young actress Lucy Fallon has begun filming as Coronation Street's Bethany Platt.
Lucy Fallon has been cast as Coronation Street's new Bethany Platt
The Blackpool-born blonde will play 14-year-old Bethany, daughter of Sarah-Louise and granddaughter of Gail on the soap.
Lucy is 19 years old and this is the youngster's first acting role - catching her break after Katie Redford was scrapped last week.

Everyone has been really welcoming and I am thrilled to have been given this great opportunity
Speaking of her joining the show, Lucy said: "Walking onto the set was surreal and nerve wracking, but everyone has been really welcoming and I am thrilled to have been given this great opportunity."
The actress's first scenes will be aired in March - something producers are no doubt looking forward to after the drama surrounding their previous casting choice.
It was reported actress Katie, who was set to play 14-year-old Bethany Platt, is soon-to-be 26 years old.
In a press release sent out by Coronation Street bosses earlier this month, Katie was said to be just 19 - a whopping seven years difference.
Coronation Street bosses decided to re-cast for the role after discovering the truth - much to the star's agent's disappointment.

Katie's agent Joanne McLintock told Newsbeat: "It wasn't [Katie's] idea to audition as a 19-year-old.
"People in the industry do it regularly and she sort of went along with what we said."
She added: "I'm feeling really stressed and so sorry for Katie. It's her first real job and she's a star in the making - she's a very talented young actress."
Meanwhile, Coronation Street announced the new Bethany this morning on Twitter.
The soap said: "FIRST PICS: Say hello to Lucy Fallon who's been cast as Bethany Platt!"
