The Rolling Stones make £14.8 million in first week back on the road
The ROLLING STONES are celebrating their return to the road with a major windfall after making £14.8 million in the first week of their rescheduled Australian tour.
The band was due to tour Australia and New Zealand earlier this year (14), but the trek was postponed following the death of Sir Mick Jagger's girlfriend L'Wren Scott in March (14).
They returned to the road last month (Oct14) to play the rescheduled shows, and new figures released by Billboard.com shows the band's comeback was highly successful. They made around £14.8 million from their first three dates in Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne, even though they cancelled a fourth show in Hanging Rock, Victoria after Jagger fell ill with a throat infection.
The tour ends in Auckland, New Zealand on 22 November (14).
