Richard Madeley's son in law James Haskell rushed to hospital for emergency operation

Rugby icon James Haskell had his fans worried after revealing he's undergone surprise surgery recently.

The son-in-law of Richard Madeley shared a snap from his hospital bed, catching supporters off-guard with his unexpected health update. He captioned the photo: "Not what I thought I'd be doing this week! But I'm alive, the Op went well. did someone say Rehab? I know a lot about Rehab. Let the journey begin."

Haskell received an outpouring of love from friends and followers alike, including a message from rugby colleague Thom Evans saying, "Speedy recovery bud."

Nightclub mogul Wayne Lineker quipped about James's appearance: "That's the best looking I've seen you tbf mate."

Lawrence Dallaglio, the former England captain, jokingly offered his own form of support: "Just keep talking to yourself and you'll fall asleep in no time to get some rest, who's delivering the Nobu? ", reports the Mirror.

Phil Vickery sent his regards with "Look after yourself big man," while a fan expressed concern: "Noooo darling!! " Despite the setback, James Haskell was pictured smiling even with his arm in a sling. This health scare occurs just as he planned a vacation with his soon-to-be ex-wife Chloe Madeley and their young daughter Bodhi.

Last October, amidst ongoing speculation and amidst the broadcast of their ITV reality show, "Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair," James and Chloe confirmed rumours of their separation by posting joint statements after five years together.

In a detailed post, they expressed that their "sole focus" is now on Bodhi and "we shall continue to co-parent with nothing but love". A year after their separation, Chloe shared insights into their co-parenting journey.

"We have found a way to do it, but it's not always great. We have really hard times with it sometimes," she honestly revealed to Closer Magazine.

"We also still argue, there's no denying that and it'll probably be this way forever. But James and I, whatever our disagreements, are adamant that we won't weaponise Bodhi or use her as a bargaining tool."

Richard Madeley, Chloe's well-known father, recently disclosed that the duo will soon embark on a family holiday to France.

"Chloe is very happy, she and James are going to France together, they have a very happy uncoupling," the Good Morning Britain presenter informed the Sun. "It's a very civilised relationship we see a lot of James, he's at the house quite a lot, either with Chloe or without."

He added: "It's a very civilised divorce."
