Stacey Solomon rejects separation from Joe Swash as she makes major career decision

Stacey Solomon has reportedly opted not to renew her contract for a second season of Renovation Rescue after revealing she longs to step away from TV altogether. She was also absent from Loose Women's Silver Jubilee portrait, marking the show's 25th anniversary - and that has sparked concerns she could be leaving that show too.

The mum-of-five, who is married to ex-EastEnders actor Joe Swash, has already told Closer Magazine of how she dislikes being separated from him and aspires to be a stay-at-home mum, only returning to TV for the occasional "passion project".

Despite Stacey's career being at an all-time high, with the star winning a NTA gong for Sort Your Life Out last month, she seems more keen than ever to spend quality time with the family.

The news that Renovation Rescue could be cancelled comes just months after Stacey announced that she is doing her final collaboration with fashion brand In The Style. After this autumn, there will be no more joint collections planned.

In an emotional Instagram statement, she explained the reasons behind her decision. "I've decided to say goodbye to In The Style and other things so that I can give more of myself back to my family," Stacey revealed.

"A few things have happened over this year and for us as a family, so it just feels right for me to let go and focus a bit more of myself on our family. It won’t just be In The Style, I have been re-thinking lots of things."

She added: "I feel so lucky and grateful to have been able to live out what I can only describe as my wildest dreams, and that’s such a huge privilege.

"One I’ll never take for granted and certainly never forget. But it’s time for a change and a new focus."

That now seems to have extended to Renovation Rescue - and fans fear she might have dropped Loose Women from her schedule too.

The speculation began after she was absent from the show's 25th anniversary photo - a major affair with 18 celebrities present in sparkling silver gowns.

Stacey's absence took place after a savage on-air debate with co-star Denise Welch about working from home.

Back in June, Stacey had been keen to accommodate the idea of people working flexibly from home in the aftermath of the pandemic, but furious Denise clashed with her as she argued that the country was "grinding to a halt".

Denise, who admitted she is sometimes sceptical about "younger women" who join the ITV panel, suggested that Gen-Z had become "lazy and entitled".

However, Stacey argued that workers could do an "adequate if not better" job from home - and she could be set to prove that as she steps back for a slower pace of life with her family.
