Malala Yousafzai wins Nobel Peace Prize
Pakistani activist MALALA YOUSAFZAI became the youngest ever winner of the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday (10Oct14) for her campaigning on behalf of girls' education.
The 17 year old shared the award with Kailash Satyarthi, an Indian activist who has spent years campaigning against child slavery.
Yousafzai hit headlines in 2012 when she was shot in the head on board a school bus by a gunman linked to Taliban extremists after writing a series of blogs about restrictions on female education in her hometown.
She has since gained a celebrity following with stars including Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber throwing their support behind her campaign.
