'Pitbull makes my soul weep': Former Radio 1 DJ Sara Cox reveals her distaste for rapper
SHE successfully made the move from Radio 1 to Radio 2 earlier this year, and it would seem lovely Sara Cox has a few things to say about popular music.
The mother-of-three has revealed some lyrics rapped by American r&b star Pitbull disagree with her views on women.
She told the Radio Times: "Someone like Pitbull on Radio 1 makes my soul weep with the way he sings about women.
"I just couldn’t bear playing that."
The rapper in question is famed for his catchy club beats including 2011's Give Me Everything and his 2009 song I Know You Want Me.
The latter includes lyrics such as: "I know you want me, want me/You know I want cha."
He later adds: "With a woman down here the s*** don't play games, They off the chain, and they let her do everything, And anything, hit tha thing
And they love to get it in, get it on her."
It would appear Sara Cox, since leaving her slot on BBC Radio 1, has taken up a stance that disagrees with Pitbull's lyrics.
The radio DJ added: "There will always be the odd song that isn’t for me.”
