Queen and Prince Philip in pictures: The royal couple on the day they announced their engagement
Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh have released candid photographs of themselves to mark their platinum wedding anniversary today.
The new portraits, taken by British photographer Matt Holyoak, show the Queen and Prince Philip in the White Drawing Room at Windsor Castle in early November.
In one photograph, Prince Philip looks lovingly at the Queen. The same look of love was seen when the couple announced their engagement in 1947.
Another shows the Queen smiling as she sits on a golden chair with her hands resting on her lap, and the Duke standing next to her with his left hand in his pocket.

In another of the portraits released on Sunday, shows them standing next to each other, looking straight at the camera.
This portrait echoes the more formal wedding photographs taken of the royal couple.
