PRINCE William has issued a heartfelt plea to fathers to talk openly about the mental health challenges families face.

Writing exclusively in the Sunday Express on Father’s Day, William urged fathers to focus on their children’s emotional needs and to ask for help themselves if they need it.
The father-of-two, who turns 34 on Tuesday, said: “It is often said that fathers can often find it hard to talk about their own feelings so there’s no wonder they struggle to speak to their son or daughter about the topic.
“But we don’t really have a choice.

Along with his wife Kate and brother Harry, William has been spent recent months campaigning on mental health issues alongside charities including Mind and Calm– The Campaign Against Living Miserably.

Last month, the royal trio launched the “Heads Together” campaign through their Royal Foundation to “change the national conversation about mental wellbeing”.
Their quest to end the stigma surrounding this debilitating and often hidden illness echoes the Sunday Express’s award-winning Crusade for Better Mental Health, which has been hailed a “gamechanger” in the fight to help the one in four people in Britain who suffer from a mental health problem.
