Jumping Kate gets in the Games spirit as Prince Harry meets old rival Usain Bolt
THE ROYALS got stuck into the Commonwealth Games yesterday as the Duchess of Cambridge took part in a game of "Three Tins" while Prince Harry met with an old sporting adversary – Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry were joined by Bolt as they visited athletes competing in this year's Games.
All seemed friendly between the Prince and the world's fastest man – with Bolt seeming to have forgiven Harry for cheating when they raced in Jamaica in 2012.
Sadly there was no re-race but the pair did shake hands to show there were no hard feelings.
The Duchess also showed her playful side, joining in with the traditional South African game of "Three Tins".
She made an impressive leap over the tins – especially since she was wearing some rather un-sporty high heels.
Olympic cycling champion Chris Hoy also joined them, clad in traditional Scottish kilt.
The Duchess appeared to turn some military heads as she took her seat
Earlier the Royal trio sat with Lord Sebastian Coe at Glasgow's Hampden Park and appeared to be enjoying their second day of the Games.
Kate and husband William were also spotted sharing a private joke as they watched the athletics.
The Duchess appeared to turn some military heads as she took her seat in the stadium behind a group of servicemen and women.
Prince Harry immediately got stuck in chatting to the personnel, perhaps trading stories of his own time in the military.
All three Royals were dressed in blue, with Kate looking particularly smart in an azure dress, cork wedges and fitted blazer.
The Duke and Duchess were also spotted wearing matching loom band bracelets – both have been snapped wearing the popular accessories in recent weeks.
Earlier today Kate attended a reception hosted by the charity SportsAid, which financially supports talented young athletes.
The Duchess is patron of the charity and its newest ambassador is tennis star Laura Robson, who was also at this morning's reception hosting a mentoring session for young sportswomen.
Stars including Bradley Wiggins, Tanni Grey-Thompson, Linford Christie and Daley Thompson have all benefitted from help from SportsAid.
Meanwhile the Princes enjoyed a kickabout as they visited a football coaching project at Glasgow's Gorbals Leisure Centre.
They were spotted laughing and joking with around two dozen youngsters at the Coach Core scheme.
Each Prince led a team for a five-a-side grudge match, with Harry's team coming out on top with a 1-0 victory.
Goalscorer Lauren Weir, 21, from Glasgow, specialises in taekwondo and said it was only the second goal she had scored in her life.
She said: "Prince Harry set me up for it and gave me a high 10.
"I said to Prince William 'hard lines, better luck next time' and he found that quite funny."
Of the Royals' footy skills, she added: "They were saying they were rubbish but they're not too bad."
