The Duchess of Cambridge hosts charity reception at the National Portrait Gallery
THE Duchess of Cambridge looked at her dazzling best as she arrived at the National Portrait Gallery to host a charity reception this evening.
Kate, 31, wore a sleek sleeveless pastel blue gown as she attended the London gallery in honour of The Art Room, a charity she is a patron of.
Prince William's pregnant wife teamed her elegant knee length outfit with matching high heels and tied her long brunette locks back.
She topped the look off with a pair of dangling silver ear rings encrusted with a coloured jewel that matched her outfit.
Speaking at the event, Kate said: "I am a firm believer in the power of art to make a difference and The Art Room is doing that on a daily basis."
The event celebrated the work on an Oxford-based charity that uses art therapy to help young people build their confidence and independence.
The charity maintains a dedicated art room in a number of secondary and primary schools in Oxford - running sessions from one to four days a week.
Kate, who is an art history graduate, added: "I always love coming to the National Portrait Gallery so to be here tonight for an evening to celebrate The Art Room makes it feel incredibly special."
During the event the Duchess of Cambridge met children who have benefited from its work and talk to professionals in the charity.
The event will also celebrate the launch of the Pledge for the Future appeal, the charity's new fundraising initiative, and its 11th anniversary.
