Prince William says 'life is sent to test us' in frank admission to Hollywood star
Prince William opened up about his wife's cancer battle as he appeared on an episode of The Reluctant Traveler.
Prince William has said "life is sent to test us" as he opened up to the Hollywood actor, Eugene Levy, on his travel show, The Relucant Traveler in an episode that comes out on October 3 on Apple TV+. The Prince of Wales and the Schitts Creek star were filmed walking around Windsor and sitting down to talk candidly in a local pub.
In a rare interview, William is seen opening up about the difficulties of the past 19 months, particularly with his father and wife diagnosed with cancer within weeks of one another. The royal said: "I'd say 2024 was the hardest year I've ever had. You know, life is sent to test us as well, and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are."
Princess Kate confirmed in January that she was in remission from the disease, while the King is still receiving treatment. Neither royal has disclosed which form of cancer they had been diagnosed with.

In another clip from the episode, Eugene and William are seen walking through the beautiful grounds of Windsor.
The American Pie star also asked the Prince: "What do you do when you're home?" William replied: "Sleep! When you've got three small children, sleep was an important part of my life."
William is also seen greeting the presenter on his electric scooter at Windsor Castle. The Prince is said to have purchased the eco-friendly scooter in 2023 so he can get around from his home in Adelaide Cottage to the castle.
Joking with the presenter in the official trailer, Prince William also asks Mr Levy, "Was getting drunk with Prince William on your bucket list?" to which he replied, "That's the bucket!"
The latest season of the show follows the Canadian actor as he sets out to discover what the "ultimate travel bucket list" is all about.
He visits countries such as Canada, America, as well as Austria, India, Ireland, Mexico and South Korea.
Other guests included in the series are K-pop boy band NOWZ and former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid.
Episodes of The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy premiere weekly until the finale on October 31, 2025.
