Princess Kate appeared in an emotional video last Friday which also featured a poignant message to cancer sufferers with a subtle detail.
Princess Kate announces she is being treated for cancer
The Princess of Wales sent a touching message of support to all cancer patients with a subtle detail in her video message when she announced her cancer diagnosis.
On Friday, Kate announced she has been diagnosed with cancer after her "major" abdominal surgery in January and is now undergoing preventative chemotherapy for it.
But there was a subtle detail in the video that made it even more poignant for the royal, who has long supported cancer charities throughout her years of service.
The video, which was filmed by BBC Studios at Windsor last Wednesday, saw Kate sit on a bench against a backgrop of daffodils.
Daffodils, which are also the national flower of Wales - another nod to her royal title - have long been associated with cancer patients and survivors as they symbolise strength, resilience, courage, life and new beginnings.

A 2018 study, led by Denis Lafontaine, of the Faculty of Sciences at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Belgium, found that daffodils have anti-cancer properties as their extract can help in the fight against cancer.
Hemanthamine (HAE) is a natural alkaloid which can help the body resist cell death as its effects can overcome the cells’ resistance to apoptosis, or cell death.
The Princess of Wales broke the nation's hearts on Friday when she spoke about her own diagnosis in an emotional video message following weeks of wild speculation and conspiracy regarding her wellbeing and whereabouts.
She described the news as a "huge shock" and told how her family had faced an "incredibly tough couple of months".

Kate said: "It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment," the princess said.
"But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be okay."
The future queen has not revealed what type of cancer she was diagnosed with.
