Prince Harry and Meghan take on 'faux royal engagements' in effort to 'impress'
EXCLUSIVE: Duke and Duchess of Sussex are trying to 'maintain the perception of royalty', according to expert Kinsey Schofield - who branded them 'reality stars'.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are still known by their royal titles, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but the couple have been branded "celebrities or reality stars" by a royal expert.
Speaking to Daily Express US, royal expert Kinsey Schofield claimed: "Engaged royal watchers would likely categorise Harry and Meghan as celebrities or reality stars."
She added: "But perception is reality and they are royal to the people that they are trying to impress."
Ms Schofield branded Prince Harry dropping the puck at the Vancouver Canucks game as a “faux royal engagement” and claimed the Sussexes were “trying to visually maintain the royal aesthetic”.
According to the royal expert, Harry and Meghan "insist that you refer to them as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in public" as they are trying to "maintain the perception of royalty".

The To Di For Daily host opined: "Their path has been very similar to Sarah, Duchess of York.
"Sarah came to America to magnify her celebrity. To make money off her association with the royals.
"Sarah partnered with Oprah Winfrey several times, produced Hollywood films, wrote books, and even appeared as a product pusher on one of the home shopping networks."

Queen Elizabeth II is said to have discouraged royals from using their roles for commercial gain. She banned Harry and Meghan from using the term “Sussex Royal” when promoting their businesses.
In 2020, Vanity Fair’s Katie Nichols said of Harry and Meghan: "He is still a Prince of England and she is still the Duchess of Sussex. They will be acutely aware and will be treading very cautiously ahead of and around signing any deals."
Meghan and Harry have signed several deals with media giants since they split from The Firm, including a reportedly $100million arrangement (£78million) with Netflix.
