Meghan Markle makes 'strategic move' to befriend Omid Scobie and keep him 'onside'
PR expert Jane Owen believes Duchess of Sussex will be keeping a close eye on author's career move and could be keen to work with him again in the future.
Omid Scobie, known for his close ties with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has announced he's moving to the US following the launch of his latest book, Endgame.
Despite a seeming distance between them at the time of the book's release, PR expert Jane Owen predicts that Meghan might make a "strategic move" to work with Omid again professionally.
Omid confirmed his career shift to the NY Times, saying he is "looking into other mediums" for his next venture. "My passion has always been in storytelling, whether that is through writing or podcasts or TV or documentary," he shared.
Jane suggested that it's "very likely" the Duchess of Sussex will be interested in his decisions, advising her to "keep him on side".

Speaking to The Mirror, Jane said: "If he's [Omid] operating at a high level it would probably be strategic for her [Meghan] to work with him so that she can shape his narrative and keep him "on side" especially given that she seems to be working more seriously on her career in producing."
"However I think it remains to be seen if they will actually make something together. I think it will depend on how popular he turns out to be in Hollywood.
"Sometimes notoriety can translate well into a career in Hollywood, but it also can fizzle and die."

"Time will tell if he makes the transition successfully. Probably another reason he's not spelling it out. He probably wants to see what deals he gets offered before he announces anything. I know that would be my advice to him if I was his publicist."
But first, Meghan has to navigate the Christmas period. Rumour has it that her father-in-law, King Charles, is "open" to inviting Meghan and Harry to join the family's festive celebrations.
After a "warm" phone call between Harry and his father in November, which was reported as "polite" and saw the King "exchange awkward pleasantries" with Meghan, it's believed the couple are keen to spend Christmas in the UK.
According to a source speaking to New Magazine, Harry is "holding out hope for a family reunion" and his dad is "open" to the idea.
