King Charles's public image is likely to have been significantly damaged by claims he made entitled requests of his staff including ironing his shoelaces, according to PR experts.
Royal author Omid Scobie, who released his new book Endgame this week, said the King is a "pampered" royal who insists on travelling with luxurious perfectly steamed 1,000-thread-count bed linen among other requests.
Renae Smith, a PR expert for The Atticism, told Daily Express US: "Omid Scobie's claims in his new book about King Charles, these could certainly impact his public image.
"Such depictions of the King insisting on meticulous personal care might reinforce perceptions of royal extravagance and disconnect from everyday life which is a common complaint the public in the UK has."
She said these claims could also "fuel sentiments of distaste towards the monarchy's privileges, particularly in a world increasingly sensitive to social inequality".
Jerome Cleary, a PR expert, told Daily Express US: "In these troubling times, I think that this reflects badly on King Charles for several reasons, because not only the people of England, but other countries feel this type and sense of entitlement pushes the envelope too far.
It comes after Scobie said he knows the identity of the two individuals who allegedly asked what skin colour Harry and Meghan's son, Archie, would have before he was born. But Scobie claims he has been prohibited by law from publishing the information in the UK.
The Express has decided not to publish the names that were printed in the Dutch edition.

Speaking on his TalkTV show Wednesday, Morgan stated: "I don't believe any racist comments were ever made by any of the Royal Family and until there is actual evidence of those comments I will never believe it."
In his new book Endgame, royal author Omid Scobie claimed that King Charles has made several shocking requests of his staff over the years.
Among the claims was that the King asks his staff to squeeze exactly one inch of toothpaste on his toothbrush from a silver dispenser, and insists they iron his shoelaces.
But a royal source, familiar with King Charles's routine, has branded the claims false and joked royal staff wouldn't even know how to iron shoelaces.
