Kate wears £39 jumper for surprise visit to Natural History Museum
KATE, Duchess of Cambridge, stunned royal fans as she stepped out for a surprise engagement in London wearing a £39 jumper.
Kate Middleton visits the Natural History Museum
Kate arrived this morning at the Natural History Museum in London to visit the Angela Marmont Centre (AMC) for UK Biodiversity. The Duchess of Cambridge cut a stylish figure wearing autumnal colours - a pair of £89 khaki culottes from Jigsaw and a £39 long-sleeved berry-coloured roll neck from Warehouse.
Beaming Kate completed her outfit with a £3,000 Chanel handbag, matching £216 heels from Tod's and a pair of silver earrings.
The Duchess headed to the museum to learn more about how the Centre is protecting UK wildlife.
As she stepped into the majestic entrance hall of the museum, Kate was spotted by surprised children on a school trip.
Kate kindly waved at them before starting her tour of the AMC.
Kate has often spoken about the positive impact nature and the outdoors can have on physical and mental wellbeing.
In particular, Kate believes children should spend some time every day outside and being immersed in nature whenever possible.
Earlier this year, she revealed she “drags outside” her three children every day, come “rain or shine”, to improve their creativity, physical and mental wellbeing.

During a guest appearance at CBBC's Blue Peter, Kate said: “Rain or shine, they’re dragged outside. It’s great.
“It encourages creativity, confidence and even a short amount of time – 10 or 15 minutes – makes a huge difference to physical wellbeing but also to our mental wellbeing.”
Kate, who is the patron of the Natural History Museum, has previously also revealed her oldest children, Prince George and Prince Charlotte, love the museum.
And, she added, they are not attracted just by the majestic dinosaurs featured in the ground floor.
During a speech at an event in 2017, she said: "I remember visiting the Natural History Museum as a child, and being inspired with a love of nature.
"And now, as a parent myself, I am experiencing the joy all over again with my own children, who adore coming here – and it is not just to see the T-Rex, mind you."
During her visit to the AMC, Kate was showed some of the research work done by the staff.
And she looked particularly curious when researchers showed her a newt in a small aquarium, where they recreated its ideal environment.
AMC staff work with colleagues from across the Natural History Museum to carry out a range of scientific research.
Their studies focus on how and why the UK’s wildlife is changing, and they also apply ground-breaking scientific techniques.
Analysing environmental DNA, scientists can detect and identify the miniscule insects and microorganisms that play an important role in healthy environments.
The Duchess was showed some of the DNA sequencings in action.
Today's visit comes just day before Kate is due to leave for Islamabad with Prince Harry on a four-day tour to Pakistan.
The tour will take place between October 14 and 18, and has been labelled by Kensington Palace "the most complex tour undertaken" by the Cambridges to date.
