Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s baby entered the world on Monday, May 6 at 5.26am. Buckingham Palace reported both baby and mother are doing well. Prince Harry told reporters he and Meghan were “absolutely thrilled” with their new arrival, but what could the royal baby’s name be?
Meghan and Harry’s baby was born during a rare occurrence - exactly as the sun rose on Monday.
The statement from Buckingham Palace on the baby’s birth read: “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex was safely delivered of a son at 0526hrs this morning.”
According to reports, sunrise took place at exactly this time, 5.26am on Monday morning.
This rare coincidence could see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex pick an appropriately sunny name for their sunrise baby.

However, punters are backing more traditional names for baby Sussex with the favourite being Alexander at 3/1 according to bookmakers Ladbrokes.
Spencer is also proving to be an incredibly popular bet with punters at 5/1.
Arthur and James follow close behind at 6/1 apiece, or it is 8/1 for Meghan and Harry naming their son Albert.
Ladbrokes spokeswoman Jessica Bridge said: “Since the joyous news arrived on Monday that the couple welcomed their first son into the world, it’s become a two-horse race between Alexander and Spencer to be his name.
“However, we can’t rule out a more modern name potentially with an American twist.”
