Royal baby due date: Will Meghan and Harry's first child be born in May?

Meghan Markle revealed she was six months pregnant today while greeting well-wishers during a royal engagement in Birkenhead, Merseyside. The Duchess of Sussex stopped to chat Kim Thompson, one of the members of the crowd, who later said: “She said she is six months pregnant and due at the end of April, beginning of May." Kensington Palace previously stated Meghan is expecting in spring, meaning the new baby could arrive in March, April or May. At the same walkabout, Meghan also admitted she and Prince Harry did not know the sex of their unborn Royal baby.
Will the Royal baby be born in May?
Bookmakers immediately altered their odds following the revelation - but Ladbrokes is predicting an early to mid-April arrival rather than May.
The betting agency says there is a 12/1 chance of the Duchess giving birth on April 19, the Queen’s birthday.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "Meghan's latest comments have forced us into action, and while we're convinced it'll be an early April baby, there's every chance the latest royal will share a birthday with his or her Great Nan."

The bookies are offering 7/1 odds of the royal baby arriving between April 1 and 7.
An early May arrival looks less likely with odds of just 20/1.
But if the new baby is born on May 2, he or she will share their birthday with cousin Princess Charlotte.
The younger sister of Prince George turns four this year.

Other famous faces born on May 2 include footballing legend David Beckham and singer Lily Allen.
If Meghan's first child is born on May 1, they will share the anniversary with Queen Victoria’s son Prince Arthur.
May Day, also known as International Workers’ Day, is also the birthday of Lady Sarah Chatto who is Princess Margaret’s daughter.
How soon do Royal Family members have babies after marrying?
The royal baby's arrival in late April or early May would mean it comes 11-and-a-half months or so after the day of Harry and Meghan’s wedding.

The couple married at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, on May 19 last year.
This mirrors the same amount of time as Prince Willam who born on June 1982, 11 months after Prince Charles and Princess Diana wed.
But the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did not welcome their first child until two years and three months after they tied the knot.
Prince George was born July 22, 2013, while Kate and William were married on April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey.
